Everything Goes Wrong!
Cannot find a job. Cannot keep a job for long. Your business fails. Everything you do is futile. Nothing flourishes with you. All your appliances break. Your wallet is always empty. The car breaks all the time. No prosperity. Your crops fail. Your investments fail. Your wife/husband leaves you. Etc. No matter how much you pray, nothing changes.
When a string of bad luck constantly plagues you, there are two possible reasons for this:
1-Sins of the Fathers
2-Witchcraft curses and other curses
1-Sins of the Fathers: Back in 1983, Pastor Win Worley had a powerful deliverance ministry, and the demons were afraid of him and hated him. He wrote a booklet about the sins of the fathers (see the Second Commandment, Ex. 20:4-6 and Deut. 5:8-10).
During his ministry, he ran into the case of a man who could not prosper in anything he did: marriage, business, jobs, even finding or being able to stay in a rent home. Win was skilled in finding out the legal rights that demons have to torment people, and this is described in his booklet. If interested, get this booklet, The Sins of the Fathers (booklet #24), by going to hbcdelivers.org or click here. You may find more booklets about other subjects.
The televangelists have since discovered “the sins of the fathers”, but refer to them now as “generational curses”, which is not exactly the sins of the fathers. The way this subject is taught is edited for the ears of those who like to “feel good” in church. I explain:
a)- “Generational Curses” is taught as inherited curses in the family, therefore, what you have to do is break the curse in the name of Jesus. After all, it is not your fault, but some great-grandfather’s fault.
b)- “Sins of the Fathers” is what the Bible calls them. It means inherited punishment of sins committed by an ancestor.
Exodus 20:4-6, the Second Commandment, says
“You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
A sin gives a demon a legal right to enter the sinner. This verse says that the guilt of the unrepentant ancestor falls on the following generations. The demon that came with the sin passes on with the guilt.
Demons do not leave if you just repent, or if you just break the curse. Doing this is good, but the demon does not leave. Inversely, the demon will not leave if there is no repentance or if the curse is not broken.
Repentance: God knows the hearts of the people. He knows our intentions, our reasons and goals. Fake repentance will not work with Him. The Bible describes how the Jewish people repented. They stopped eating, they dressed in sackcloth (which is a coarse jute weave used for sacks of onions or potatoes. It is very coarse, and close to the skin it is itchy and irritating.) They would throw earth or dust on their heads. They wailed. I prefer to think that inside they were really repenting and not just putting on a show.
There are some prayers of repentance of the sins of the fathers in the Old Testament. One is in the book of Daniel and another in the book of Nehemiah. There are a few more. If you have been reading the Old Testament, you have come across them.
To receive deliverance, you don’t have to know which ancestor did what, and although the sin is related, that is, your particular trouble is related to the same type of the sin, you don’t have to know what sin it was.
Sometimes families hold conversations recalling with pride what an ancestor did illegally to get some kind of advantage over others: for instance, a grandfather that had a ranch and moved the fences to get some of his neighbor’s land. If you ever heard something like this, you have the opportunity to zero in on the particular sin, but that might not be the only sin of this ancestor…and of course, you have many more ancestors to think about.
After repentance and asking God for forgiveness, the curses can be broken, and the demons that came with the curses should be cast out.
2- Witchcraft curses: These should be broken in the name of Jesus even if you do not suspect that someone has put a hex on you. As with any curse, after it is broken the demon that came with the curse should be cast out.
Spoken curses: these are not only put on you by witchcraft methods, but also by people speaking negative things about you like evil comments from people who are jealous of you or hate you. They are broken in the name of Jesus and the demons then cast out.
When you were growing up, if either of your parents (or someone else) said to you, “You will never amount to anything”, or “You are going to be poor all your life,” or anything similar, those curses must be broken also. Forgive your parents because they did not know that speaking these words would curse you.
